Best days of my life...

It was 3.45pm the sun was scorching high with the
mercury in the barometer elevating ..oodles of excitement
was found everywhere..the atmosphere was tense and
finally when the ball reached the hoop the whistle was
blown...ohmy!!!!it was time-out.. "that was tough luck mate"
this was the thing my instructor told me when water
filled up my eyes...i can still remember it..feels as though

it had happened yesterday..although we lost the game it
was the most memorable day of my life..coz it was the day
i realised the value of '2-mins' and also the existance of the
term 'luck' which plays a part in everyone's life at one
point or the other...
                              "BASKETBALL"..the only word which
increases the excitement quotient in me any time any
place...I was in std 6 and that was the last game i played
in my life..coz i didn get a chance to play after that due to
the transition which had happened to me...
I shifted to another school with the hopes
of joining a new basketball team..as time grew older little
did i realise that i made a grave mistake by having false
hopes about this new school..i was astonished when i
came to know it didn have a basketball team for the girls
and i was shaken badly when the girl next to me didn
know the existance of the game i loved....it was too hard
for an eleven year old to digest...
                                  BASKETBALL was one of my
passions..as a matter of fact it still is.. i came to know
about this game in the mid-way of my 5th std..the basket
ball instructor was selecting girls for the juniors'
team..initially i wasnt that much interested but the team was
one girl short and so i was ordered to join the team...i was
very much reluctant to join the team as i wasnt attracted to
the game but then it was destiny's work and i was helpless...
A month passed by and all that we had to do
was practise tripling the ball..running races'...reciting the
rules..in the name of practise -session...it turned out from
less-interested to frustration..being one among the
naughtiest in the class..i brainwashed my friend and we
decided to drop-out of the team..we got a chance to have
a word with the instructor and after listning to us he jus
gave a curt nod and asked us to attent that day's practise
session..with half mind we accepted..
That was the preliminary game session..we
wer splitted into two teams each comprising of five ppl..
the game started with the advancement of the ball by
bouncing it or passing it between teammates..five passes
wer to be made and the person at the 5th pass had to
shoot...thinking this to be the last game i decided not to
involve myself into it..then came the upturn...suddenly
someone yelled the name and i was the person to whom
the 5th pass was made..i was shocked as i found girls
barging from all the sides..
My instructor shouting at the top of his
voice askd me try the triple shot or the three-point field
goal( it is the three points awarded if the jump shot is
beyond the arch and one point for a free throw)as i was
least bothered about my team and hence i gave it a shot..to
my astonishment the ball went through the hoop and that
was the beginning..i ended up scoring 5 shots and started
loving the game..
Although my participation in the game was
put to an end...my love for it is immortal..getting back to it
is one of the few things i crave for..Life is what happens to
us while we busily make other plans...and Luck??I don't
know anything about it and i dont want to know either coz
I've never banked on it and I'm afraid of people who do...
I dedicate this post to my instructor..the
person who had helped me in developing  interest for this
game and taught me to utilise my complete potential..he's
one of the very few ppl who have made a change in my life
and wherever i go he will be remembered and my respect
for him will never end jus like my love for the game...
